We know there are a few of you who think you want to go faster, and an even smaller number who actually should be going faster.
Remember, you won't be on a road or on open snow. Along any kind of track with trees and other hazards nearby, our top speed will feel very fast to most people.
In terms of engineering, it's not difficult to make it go faster, we have limited it for your safety ... and so we can get product insurance.
Speed does not use a lot of power / energy. In fact, going up a steep hill uses 5x the energy (torque / kW / hp) of going top speed on flat firm ground.
At high speed, if you have an 'impact' type accident or fall awkwardly, you can get very badly injured even with full protection.
Reality is that unless you are obstacle free and on a hard flat surface (like a road, which we hope you won't be) you'll rarely be doing the top speed.
Our suggestion is wait until you are weaving a long a trail at top speed and then form a view!
Whatever speed you are doing ... helmet and protective gear.
Enough said.
